Aussie Builders surprise public with loud empowering statements in new Snickers Australia Ad.
It’s all great and stuff but the final message of the ad just ruins everything.
We all know Snickers' motto-“You’re not you when you’re hungry" so the final statement of the video is that men act ‘weird and unmanly’ when they haven’t had their dose or common sense-it’s a message for men that they must be crazy to act respectfully to women and not catcall them.
Comparing it to other Snickers’ ads-the Primadonna one, in which a man is shown in his hungry state as a prissy uptight stereotype of a woman, the Grandma one, where a man is as weak as a woman(another hurtful stereotype) before he’s had his Snickers and so on and so forth, any viewer would come to the conclusion that men’s pre-Snickers' condition is irrational, stupid, unmanly and weak.
So yeah thanks for nothing-for making feminist men look dumb.
Out of the context, this gifset looks great but the final message, omitted in this post, simply perpetuates a dangerous notion.
